Yes, it's a pitiful introduction. I have another blog/journal over at LiveJournal, but I'm planning on posting things here that I want to share with a more "public" audience. So, just consider this a statement of purpose.

As of yet, I'm the only Lotherius on the entire internet. There are a couple of reference to some Frankish noble over a thousand years ago by the name, and that's it. I came up with the name years ago, in an AD&D induced haze, for a character who was a Drow Elf born in an area very much like ancient Rome.
Aelfwyne, my other common handle, is almost as rare. There was a very popular Aelfwyne who was a member of the SCA, I found out, and most other aelfwynes got their name from him. I got mine from an etymology of my RL name (Alvin)...
My RL name + my last name (which is a good english sounding name, just not very common) puts me clearly in the lead on its owners as far as the internet is concerned. What's this mean? Not a darn thing, except that I'm extremely easy to find on the internet, as my old high school classmates discovered when they began putting together a list of people for the 10 year reunion.
I like being unique, actually. I used to go by "elfren" - a shortening of Elf-Friend to fit in the early net/BBS days where many logons had to be under 8 characters. Then as the internet began to reach other parts of the world, I discovered that "elfren" was actually a common name in the phillipines, I think it was. So the net was suddenly flooded with other elfrens, and I had to give up the name because I won't be one of a crowd.
Hi my names, trina - I read this comment on Dharmas blog and it piqued my interest. My parents are members of the SCA (and I used to be when I was younger) We're from Australia though. My dad used to play Dungeons and Dragons when I was younger (up until I was about 7) and my husband plays alot of Diablo and World of Warcraft etc
